Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Lantrova collects, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. We handle confidential engineering materials, and we take that seriously. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable Alberta privacy law.
1. Information we collect
We collect: account and contact information you provide (name, business or shop name, email, phone, location); request and job content (part descriptions, drawings, photos, models, quantities, specifications, quotes, and messages); usage and technical data (log data, IP address, and a session cookie needed to keep you signed in); and, when you place an order, payment information, which is collected and processed by our payment provider, we do not store full card numbers.
2. How we use your information
We use it to operate the platform: to screen and match requests, relay masked communications, obtain and present quotes, manage orders and the conformance check, process payments, prevent fraud and misuse, provide support, meet legal obligations, and, where you have opted in, send occasional updates you can unsubscribe from at any time.
3. How we share it, and how we protect identities
A core feature of Lantrova is that buyer and Shop identities stay masked. Shops invited to quote see your part and files but not your company name or contact details until a job is awarded and you both proceed; buyers see Shops by handle only. We share information with:
- Invited Shops: only the job content needed to quote and produce your order, masked as described above.
- Service providers that run the platform under contract: our cloud hosting and database provider, our payment processor, and our transactional-email provider. They may process data to provide their service to us and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
- Legal and safety: where required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights and safety of users and the public.
We do not sell your personal information, and Lantrova products do not show third-party advertising.
4. Confidential drawings and files
Uploaded drawings and files are shared only with Shops invited to your job and only to quote or produce it. Files are served through short-lived, access-controlled links, are watermarked with the viewer's identity, and every view and download is logged. We do not send your files to third-party scanning services.
5. Cookies
We use a single essential, secure, HTTP-only session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Fonts are loaded from a standard web-font provider to render the site.
6. Data retention
We keep account and transaction records for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations, after which we delete or anonymize them. You can ask us to close your account and delete personal information that we are not required to retain.
7. Security
We protect your information with measures that include: passwords stored only in salted, hashed form; session tokens stored hashed; encryption of data in transit (HTTPS); access-controlled, expiring, watermarked links for confidential files; rate-limiting and lockouts on sign-in; audit logging of sensitive actions; and internal access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and to respond promptly to any incident.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw consent, or ask us to delete information we are not required to keep. To make a request, contact our privacy contact below. We will respond within the timeframes required by law.
9. Where your data is processed
Lantrova is based in Alberta, Canada. Our service providers may process or store data in Canada, the United States, or other countries; where data crosses borders, it remains subject to safeguards and to this policy.
10. Children
Lantrova is a business-to-business service and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes
We may update this policy as the platform develops; the "last updated" date will change and, for material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you.
